SinglesOne adult aged 18–110. Declared dependants aged 19 and under, not working full-time, financially dependent on you, and travelling with you for the entire trip can be added at no extra cost, unless they have an existing medical condition to declare (an additional premium may apply). ††
Couples and familiesAny two adults aged 18–110, travelling together, plus declared dependants travelling with them for the entire trip. ††
EligibilityYou must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a current Australian visa with a valid Medicare card and primary residence in Australia. Your policy must be purchased before your trip begins, and the trip must start and end in Australia.

When it matters: Cover in action
Cancelled flight in a stormYou've booked a long weekend in Hobart. A major storm cancels your Sydney flight, and you lose the first night's pre-paid accommodation. The domestic plan may help cover the lost deposit and additional travel costs caused by the delay, subject to the PDS.
Rental car accident on the Great Ocean RoadA kangaroo darts out, and you clip a guard rail. The rental company charges you the full insurance excess. The domestic plan may cover the rental vehicle excess up to $5,000 per policy, subject to the PDS.
Lost luggage on a regional flightYou fly from Melbourne to Broome and your checked bag doesn't arrive. The airline confirms a delay of more than 10 hours. Our domestic travel insurance plan may cover essential items purchased while you wait, and if the luggage is ultimately lost, you may also claim under the luggage benefit, subject to the PDS.
All scenarios are illustrative only. Claims are assessed on their individual merits against the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions of the policy.

Choice of excessThe default excess is $200 per claim. You have option to reduce it to $100 or $0. The excess amount you choose will increase or reduce your premium. Please note some cover benefit limits or sub-limits may be less than your chosen excess and therefore the insurer may not contribute anything to your claim.
21-Day cooling-off periodChanged your mind? Cancel within 21 days of purchase for a full refund, provided you haven’t started your trip, haven’t made a claim, and don’t intend to make a claim or exercise any other rights under your policy.
Optional add-ons
Ski and winter sportsHeading to Thredbo, Perisher, or Falls Creek? Add ski and winter sports cover for an additional premium (available to travellers aged 85 and under). Covers ski equipment hire, ski pack, bad weather, avalanche, and lift passes. See our ski cover page or the PDS for full details.
Existing medical conditionsSome conditions are covered automatically.~~ Others can be assessed during the quote process. While the domestic plan doesn't provide medical cover in Australia, declaring a condition ensures your cancellation and other benefits aren't affected by a related claim. See our Existing medical conditions page.
